Abstract: Over the last decade, GPU has become a mainstream computing platform that accelerates applications with a lot of data level parallelism. At the same time, various new interfaces are developed for emerging applications like machine learning. In this seminar, we discuss the performance implications of such applications on traditional CPU and increasingly popular GPUs. We also introduce an existing interface and talk about an example of neural network implementation on CPU and GPU.
