New Robotics Course

Dr. Yixin Chen will be teaching an undergraduate special topics course on robotics in Fall 2012.

The goal of this course is to provide students hands-on experience in the design, construction, and programming of robots that are driven by miro-controllers (in particular, LEGO NXT mobile robots). Upon completion of this course, students should be able to develop a robotic system using LEGO NXT; to understand the role of knowledge representation, problem solving, and learning in intelligent-system engineering; and to explain the basic concepts of robotics systems.

The recommended reading for the course is the book Intelligence Unleashed: Creating LEGO NXT Robots with Java (Variant Press, 2011) by Brian Bagnall.

The course CSCI 390, Special Topics in Programming, will meet on Tuesday and Thursdays at 1pm.
