Get Involved in ACM!

The first meeting of the Ole Miss student chapter of the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) is Thursday, September 2, at 6:00 p.m. in Weir 235.  The group will meet the first Thursday of each month this semester.  We always have pizza and door prizes!

ACM is the primary professional organization for computer scientists. Joining the group is fun, a good addition to your resume, and a great way to get involved in the department. As many of you know, the TREE (Technology Recycling to Enhance Education) project was launched last year and we need your participation to make it a success.

Here is the preliminary schedule for the meetings this semester.

Sept 2:  Welcome, introduction to the department, ACM, officers
Oct 7:   Internship and job information
    Nov 4:   Guest speaker
Dec 2:   LAN party or movie night

Your ACM officers are Peter Salu (President), Buki Alabi (Vice-President), and John Hedges (Secretary).  Contact any of them for more information about ACM.
